ARIZONA

Are you ready for the most unique riding experience of your life? Beautiful Sedona, Arizona is a mountain biking mecca located at 4,500 feet above sea level where the red rock makes for jaw-dropping scenery and the riding is technical and fun. Throw in ample food, lodging, and camping options to the equation and you'll get a perma-grin on your face.
There are hundreds of mountain bike trails in the area, with over 200 miles of red singletrack.
Some of the most famous ones include Hiline, Hogs and Hangover, also known as Triple H. They are also the most challenging, technical trails, with lots of exposure. Leave your fear of heights at home if you want to ride them!
If you're looking for a beginner ride, Bell Rock Pathway and Big Park Loop are great trails to start. Then check out some of the intermediate trails such as: Chuck Wagon, Adobe Jack, Llama, Mescal and Scorpion.

Tucson, AZ is the unsung hero of all-mountain riding... with Mt Lemmon, a mountain that reaches almost 10,000 feet elevation in the middle of the desert, there are backcountry and front country trails that offer endless challenges and rippin' fun rides. The infamous Arizona Trail goes from the border of Mexico through the Grand Canyon and to the Utah border. We can access any section of this scenic trail, which attracts day users and bike packers alike. The trails are never crowded in Tucson, and the locals are keen to share their backyard with visitors. Whether its beginner or double-black diamond trails, Tucson has it! TORCA (Tucson Off-Road Cyclists & Activists) spends thousands of hours maintaining the trails so they are free and clear of downed trees and pruned for the best line of sight. Riding in Tucson is year round, with the best riding months October - April.

Northwest Arkansas is considered a premier up and coming mountain biking destination in the country right now. In part with a grant from the Walton Family Foundation, Bentonville has hired IMBA to design an epic trail system within city limits that now has a plethora of different trails to match any level of experience including some of the most competitive trails in the U.S. As if all this wasn't enough, the lower altitude allows enthusiasts to ride almost year-round. Slaughter Pen, Coler, The Railyard Bike Park & The Back 40 are some of the more popular trail systems in Bentonville. There's something for everyone and lots of opportunities to practice with special features including log rides, drops and jumps. Bike Bentonville, who's mission is to promote and enhance a bicycle-friendly culture for residents and tourists is a great resource for everything bike related in Bentonville!
CALIFORNIA
Marin, CA
Marin, CA is known as the birthplace of mountain biking with some of the best trail systems and locations in Northern California. With easy access to most all trailheads and year-round rideable weather, it makes for prime mountain riding.
Tamarancho is one of the area's most well-known trail systems located in Fairfax. It is an intermediate to advanced trail system with XC climbing, technical rock gardens, a fun swoops flow trail and beautiful views of Mt. Tam and the Bay Area.
China Camp State Park, located centrally in San Rafael, is easy to get to and park or pedal right to the trailhead. It has various trails for all levels and is perfect for beginner singletrack riders looking to have fun and advance their skills. With the exception of heavy rain, these trails hold up well and are well-maintained and supported by volunteers, FOCC, the Boy Scouts, Access4Bikes Foundation, MCBC, and China Camp State Park year around.

Colorado's Front Range has a variety of terrain to play on, and it's all easy to access. Erie Singletrack offers everything from smooth corners and rollers, to more aggressive and faster flow, to drops and sizable jumps. Hall Ranch has unique rock gardens for working on learning technical lines and focusing on body position. And White Ranch has an expansive trail network with lots of varied technical features.
Colorado Springs, Co
Colorado Springs lies at the base of Pikes Peak, one of Colorado's largest and most beautiful mountains. There are a wide variety of trails scattered throughout the city.
There are long, sustained climbing trails in the Cheyenne Canyon area and super techy trails located in Palmer Park which is in the center of the city.
Ute Valley park is another locals favorite that has a great combination of flowy trails and technical riding that is located next to the SRAM headquarters. You will see why the best suspension company in the world tests their new product in this area!
You can find yourself riding by beautiful red rocks at the Garden of the Gods or through Red Rock Canyon that is reminiscent of Southern Utah. Colorado Springs has the largest and most accessible network of trails on the Front Range of Colorado yet it is a hidden gem, lacking the crowds.

Depending on where you're staying, or what you'd like to see, there are many trail networks close to the city, the coast, and inland.
There are purpose-built trails in Gorham, Falmouth, and Pownal as well as nearby New Hampshire that are fun and bermy.
Looking for lift-service biking? Attitash Mountain is 60 miles west of Portland and makes a day trip. The local heritage trails offer natural rock and root features true to the classic New England landscape.
Trails stay in great condition all year long with the support of NEMBA and Portland Trails.

Michigan is home to many fun trails for all riding abilities. The trails are typical midwest terrain, with a variety of features to challenge beginners and advanced riders alike. State park trails in southern Michigan such as Brighton, Maybury, Fort Custer and Potowatomi offer many miles of traditional singletrack with quick elevation changes, twists and turns, loose rock, hard pack, sand, roots, rock gardens, stream crossings, bridges and tons of flow! Privately funded trails like DTE Foundation Trail in Ann Arbor, Merrill in Grand Rapids and Lakeshore Park in Novi are fun for all levels. Machine cut trail and difficult features or loops are available as options for more adventurous riders while easier routes are provided for newer riders. The mountain bike community is widespread, fun-loving, friendly and welcoming. Once trails thaw and are dry (usually by May) mountain biking in Michigan is fun and varied riding for all abilities and ages year round.
Copper Harbor, MI
Copper Harbor has Epic trails, just ask IMBA! Trail building genius Aaron Rogers and his crew have turned the area into a mountain biking destination for riders across the country. With two 700 foot ridges located next to Lake Superior, the trails have been created to twist and turn up the hills, and bomb and flow on the way down. While beginners are often intimidated, intermediate, advanced and expert riders drool over the large berms, rock features and bridges in this playground of a trail system. The system has two main trailheads: one at the top of the trails and one at the bottom. And the local adventure company offers shuttle rides to get adrenaline junkies to the top of the hills without panting.

With gorgeous views of Lake Superior, Marquette, a handsome 19th-century mining-turned-college town on the shore of Lake Superior, is ground zero for the Upper Peninsula’s vibrant mountain-bike scene. The Noquemanon Trail Network has over 50 miles of beautifully maintained single-track trails with everything from gap jumps and ramp drops to kid-friendly flow trails. And that’s just the start: There are 90 more miles of single-track within an hour’s drive of town.

Big Sky, Montana has about 40 miles of cross-country and lift-serviced downhill trails for all levels beneath the magnificent Montana skies. The trails range from mild to rigorous with most trails leading to spectacular views of the Madison and Gallatin mountain ranges. Some of the more popular trails systems in Big Sky include the Mountain to Meadow trail, six miles of continuous berms and flow that run from the base of the resort to the town center, the Grizzly Loop, The North Fork trail, Upland Trails, and the lift access downhill trails at Big Sky Bike Park. The epic Buck Ridge and Yellow Mules trails will leave you short of breath but long on views.

There is a variety of terrain in the area including flowy hard-packed singletrack, big climbs, and technical rocky descents. Mountain biking is a great way to explore the beautiful hardwood forests surrounding Asheville. With seemingly endless trails you could spend a lifetime in the Appalachians and never run dry on riding adventures.

North East Ohio is becoming very well versed in trails. Five new trail systems were added in the past 5 years and current ones are being expanded. Each trail system has something to offer every level of rider, although there aren't any big drops and jumps... yet! There is flow and mileage and many places to stop and session skills. There is a lot of variety: rock gardens, climbs, bridges, berms, rollers, roots, and flat terrain. We also have Rays Indoor MTB park open from October to April when it's too cold to ride outside!

Bend, OR is an outdoor enthusiast's dream. Dubbed the "outdoor playground of the West," Bend is famous for it's outdoor pursuits, laid-back vibe, pristine beauty, sun-drenched days and cool nights. The mountain bike trails are flowy and fun. The Phil’s Trail Complex & Wanoga Trail Complex are some of the more popular trail systems in Bend. They have great beginner friendly trails like Kent’s, Phil’s and Ben’s but also the opportunity to progress to more advanced trails like Whoops, Funner, Tiddlywinks and Tylers. You can't help but smile on some of the long swooping downhills with rollers, berms and jumps. The lava rock gardens are challenging and the views on the upper trails are spectacular. The trails at the Mt. Bachelor Bike park allow even more opportunity for progression with lift access riding and great views. The best thing about Bend is the easy access to so many trails nearby, yet you're deep in the woods away from it all. With the incredible support of COTA these trails stay in great condition in the Spring, Summer and Fall.
Hood River, OR
Hood River is uniquely located within a close proximity to world renowned single track around the Mt Hood and Columbia Gorge scenic regions. The weather tends to be sunny and dry throughout the summer, with a riding season from May through September-and tends to be a popular destination for mountain bikers from the wetter climate in Portland. Trails are maintained and managed by two largely supported non profit trail advocacy groups, the National Forest Service, Hood River County, and many other volunteers who have taken great care of the local trails for decades. Popular trails include the Post Canyon trail system which offers many levels of riding-from technical single track and challenging drops and jumps, to beginner level green trails. Other trail systems in the area extend out to the Mt Hood area, such as Surveyors Ridge, Sandy Ridge, and across the Columbia River into the Gifford Pinchot regional trails, and Syncline trail system in Washington.

In the Salt Lake City area, the Bonneville Shoreline trail, Bobsled Trail, and I Street Bike Park , all near the University of Utah, offer opportunities to hone basic or advanced skills. Corner Canyon in Draper feature lots of flow. The 9 Line jump park in town is a great meetup place for a lesson.
Park City, UT
Park City, just a short drive from SLC, is an IMBA Gold Level Ride center, with the IMBA Epic designated Mid Mountain Trail. Lift access biking, plenty of cross country trails, and shuttle opportunities that include using the free city bus system. Trailside Bike Park has pump tracks, jump lines, wooden features, and three downhill-style trails to practice on before you head to the mountain. You can rent or purchase all of the gear you need in town. Many trails end right in the heart of Park City where you can eat, drink, and hangout with your friends of all riding levels. Locations like Round Valley and Jeremy Ranch dry early in the season and are appropriate for all levels of riders to learn on.

Moab, UT is a mountain biking mecca with 200 miles of mountain bike specific singletrack trails. Trails range from beginner friendly to very advanced.
From black humus to red slickrock to epic singletrack, Moab covers every type of riding and offers a magical, mind-blowing sensory overload.
Some of the most famous trails include the Whole Enchilada, Mag 7, Captain Ahab and Porcupine Rim.
